Junior Dominic Grabher verzeichnete alleine im Play-Off 15 Scorer-Punkte.

The MARCH 2016 is finaly history. The Duisburg Ducks carried our MARCH Pott back to Duisburg. We are sure it

will have a nice place for a year.

There will be some changes in the MARCH Organisation Team. Unfortunately we are sad that Simon Majek is leaving

his job as Team Scout. Simon did a great job the last couple of years in putting together great lineups for the MARCH

Tournament.

From the beginning it was a Co-Production between Simon and Stefan Oberhauser. The last two years Simon was

pulling his strings to get the BEST Teams to Wolfurt.

How much effort he put in is just said in a single Story. Simon flew to London just to talk with James Tanner about

a possible start of the London Street Warriors in Wolfurt.

There are probably no words to describe our Thank You to Simon for his great work for the InlinehockeyClub

Wolfurt Walkers.

But we will say it in a sentence he probably know well. Simon du wirst immer ein Walker sein und es

war uns eine Ehre.

The MARCH will still be living. Stefan Oberhauser will be looking after the Teams for the Future. One very

important decision is already

made.

The MARCH 2014 will be between 3 – 5. MARCH 2017 in Wolfurt. We are sure we will have a great lineup in

Wolfurt with a lot of

fun for everyone.

The MARCH will go to rest. But for the next 12 Month you will have to possibility to watch the final again

and again and again……..

All Star TeamIt is always a very interesting Time when the All Stars of a Top Format Tournament are presented.

This years MARCH Tournament saw some realy outstanding players. We have seen players like Vincent

Stemer (Swiss U19 / Rossemaison) and Arthur Pouilly (Swiss U19 / SHC Buix) putting some brilliant plays

on the hockey floor of the HockeyArena in Wolfurt.

If they keeping working on there play. They will be in the future spotlight for sure among others.

We have seen some “older” all stars like Vincent Monbaron, Simon Arzt and even Thomas Konzett of the

Wolfurt Walkers. They are still up there With the best. But in the End there are always some familiar faces

in a All Star Lineup at every tournament.

This years MARCH All Star Team was represented by:

Goal

Raphael Friedli (Bienne Seelanders)

In Goal for the third Year Running we had Raphael Friedli of the Bienne Seelanders. The Swiss National

Goalkeeper is always on every tournament A standout goalkeeper. We from the Wolfurt Walkers think.

He is one of the best three Goalkeepers in the Skaterhockey World beside James Tanner (London Street Warriors)

and Joël Vuilleumier (SHC Rossemaison)

Defenders

Nicolai Wagner (TV Augsburg)

The defender of the Bavarian European Champion is a household name in Skaterhockey for years. He started his

career with the Schwabmünchen Mammuts. The Mammuts Bombed down every Team a couple of years ago and

steped up from the Regional Bavarian League to the Bundesliga. Unfortunately they where relegated and Nicolai Wagner

And some other Schwabmünchen Players like Simon Arzt went to TV Augsburg. That was probably a match made

in heaven as Augsburg won a lot the last couple of years.

And Nicolai was a big Part in it. Not a big scorer but with good hands a lot of calm and well thought actions on

the pitch. A Quarterback every team would love to have.

Aron Fassora (Sayaluca Lugano)

A Lugano Rangers product playing now for years for Sayaluca Lugano. Not a tall defender but a brilliant skater

with a great vision. He put some really good plays on the pitch and was quarterbacking the Sayaluca Defense.

Aron Fassora is still skating after his first Swiss National Titel and the European Cup. Among

That he has won probably everything in this sport.

Forwards

Damien Voirol (Bienne Seelanders)

The Bienne Forward Leader is a lot of fun to watch. He seems after Alex Pearman like the perfekt Packet

in Skaterhockey. Good sice, brilliant hands, top speed……. It will be interesting to watch the Bienne

Seelanders this season as a couple of good players left and there will be a lot of pressure on the young

shoulders of players like Damien Voirol

This year he could not win the MARCH Titel but from our point of view a deserved All Star Nomination.

Lukas Fettinger (TV Augsburg)

If there was betting on all star teams in this sport. You would not get any money in betting on Lukas

Fettinger in this Category.

What a player. A shot from hell. Quick Hands and most importantly. Lukas Fettinger does know

where the Goal is standing. If you just have a look on his statistics in Germany. Well every team would like

to have a scorer like this.

298 Games with 669 Goals and 1056 Points in his playing time just in Germany. There is nothing more

to say than it is always fun to watch Lukas Fettinger playing Skaterhockey.

And Lukas. If you need one day a new Challenge after winning everything with Augsburg. Im sure the

Wolfurt Walkers would have a spot in the Lineup for you!!!!

Those five Players where voted of all Teams and the Referees not the Tournament Organization Team.

Duisburg DucksWhat a MARCH 2016 Edition…. We brilliant playing conditions

all weekend. From a organization point of view great referee work.

All kind of weather conditions. We had Rain, Snow and Sunshine.

But the most important point we saw a lot of smiling faces around

the HockeyArena Wolfurt.

The Tournament saw from the beginning a small gap between the top four sides of Augsburg, Biel, Duisburg, Lugano

and the rest of the field.

Therefore it was not a big surprise that those four teams went up into the top group and had at least there quarterfinal

ticket safe on early Saturday.

The  top group was won by Bienne Seelanders. But it was all weekend not a smooth working Bienne Team. In the past

there was always everything working like a swiss clock. This time they where a bit unlucky on some occasions and did

not get all chances on there scoreboard when it was needed.

From the other four teams we saw the Hometeam of Wolfurt and Novaggio going through into the Quarterfinals.

The Quarterfinals where a Matchup between the Swiss National League B (Wolfurt and Novaggio) and the

German Bundesliga. Unfortunately the Bundesliga took both games to earn a Matchup with the

Swiss National League A (Lugano and Biel)

The Semifinals saw to fully different games.

Duisburg and Bienne was a very close game with the better start of the Seelanders. But the could not get on the scoresheet. Duisburg

ended the game seconds before the End with a nice wrist shot to take a final spot.

The other Matchup between Sayaluca and Augsburg was not realy close in the End. Augsburg taking a comfortably win.

So the MARCH 2016 was a full in german hands. Ausgsburg startet well, lead by there Topsniper Lukas Fettinger and

getting up 3:1. The Defense looked safe with players like Simon Arzt and Nikolai Wagner. But somehow Duisburg managed

the sneak in two goals to go into the decisive Penalty Shootout.

It was up to the Duisburg Captain Paul Fiedler to win this game with the last penalty shot for Duisburg. And he did

it in great fashion.

So the Duisburg Ducks could win the MARCH Trophy for there second time after 2013.

The Wolfurt Walkers are happy that from our point we could make the March Slogan „where the best compete“ work.

The Teams did not play as if it was a pre-season tournament. We saw that the MARCH has become a Name in

European Skaterhockey and we will work further to develop this event.

Last but not least. We think we have put our Sport on the next level. Maybe we are wrong. But we still believe in it.

The Livestream will be the Future of our sports. We do have a great sport. Why not show it on the internet and television.

Therefore we have put a lot of effort into this all weekend.

We hope it was worth it and all viewers had a great time in watching the March 2016 out of one of the fastest Pitches

in Europe and arguably one of the nicest looking Hockeyrinks in the World 🙂

Stay tuned with the Walkers on

It will be worth it……

Well, let’s be honest, we are quite surprised…not really by the result of the semifinals,  but from the way this giant battles were conducted.

Biel Seelanders tried everything to score an early goal against Duisburg Ducks, but the Germans played very well in defense and with every minute the Swiss got more and more frustrated. So many shots on goal but no goal? Yes, it is possible, and like the most cynical unwritten law in sports, if you do not convert your chances, you get punished sooner or later. And so it happened. Out of the blue, with only a couple minutes left to play Duisburg scored the winning goal! A great team effort and first final after 2013 for the team of coach Sven Fydrich. Big up for Biel Seelanders, with a little bit more luck they would stand now in the final…

The second semifinal was expected to be tense, spectacular, undecided till the end, but no… it all came out different. The european Champion from Augsburg played almost faultless and coldheartedly scored with every powerplay. Too nervous and naiif, the team around coach Bobo Bernasconi couldnt change the destiny of the game. Sayaluca was finally severly beaten by this outreageous team from Augsburg. 6-0 and first final for their first appearance at our tournament.

So now we are ready to enjoy the „small“ final between Sayaluca and Biel Seelanders at 16.10 and this 100% german final at 17.00.

Dont miss it thanks to our livestream:

The MARCH Tournament had his first day in the books.

The first Game between Sayaluca and Salzburg was a one sided story ending with 6:0 for the Swiss side.

Game nr. 2 saw a close game between Wolfurt and NOvaggio with the better end for the Swiss team due to

individual errors of the home team

The Livestream so far was a big success. We hope all skater hockey fans do have a lot of fun.

The Livetream coverage is a whole new chapter in skater hockey. The Walkers are proud that we made that

step as a pioneer.

Stay tuned. Great Skaterhockey is coming up.
